About Hunter Hospitality House

Hunter Eldon Willard was born two months prematurely on Dec. 7, 1991, and passed away just before Christmas, on Dec. 23, 1991. He was in and out of the hospital during his short little life, including a stay in the special care nursery.

Since that experience, his parents, Jeff & Tracy Willard, have wanted to see a bed & breakfast-type hospitality house, close to Port Huron Hospital, which could be used by exhausted moms wanting to be near their babies but away from the bustle of the hospital. Being able to take a shower, nap, eat a small meal, while still being on call for that baby who may need nursing, is crucial for those bonding moments after birth. Seriously ill patients on floors such as ICU, Surgical, Hearts and Oncology with loved ones needing to be on-call and very close to the hospital would also benefit from a facility like Hunter Hospitality House.
