Professional Bio

As a Western Michigan University alumna with a Master’s in Social Work, Precious Miller has built a diverse professional portfolio through her work in community mental health, the K-12 public school system, college student success coaching, and as a Gallup Certified Clifton-Strengths coach. In February 2020, she joined the Michigan Community College Association (MCCA) as the MI-BEST Coordinator and swiftly advanced to the role of Director of Basic Needs and Belonging. Precious is a dedicated leader focused on enhancing student well-being and advancing equity. She excels in forging strategic partnerships, providing technical assistance, and leading professional development initiatives for member institutions, notably overseeing the Professional Learning Space. Precious is deeply involved in regional, state, and local efforts to close equity gaps and advocates for designing student-centered systems. Outside of her professional role, she enjoys spending time with her partner and their two boys and is passionate about cross-fit. In her multifaceted roles, Precious brings a wealth of expertise, insightful perspectives, and a strong commitment to advancing student success and inclusivity in higher education
