Health & Safety
MSAE takes the health and safety of our guests seriously. Safety precautions and guidelines are subject to change.
We encourage you to ascertain your own comfort level for an in-person event based on personal health factors. This tool, created by Georgia Tech, may be helpful in assessing personal risk for attending an in-person event with 150-200 participants.
Personal Responsibility
Registration and attendance at, or participation in, MSAE's in-person events constitutes an agreement by the registrant to abide by MSAE's and the host property's efforts to comply with current CDC recommendations (and any state of Michigan requirements) and to engage in certain health-and-safety-beneficial conduct while attending the event as requested by MSAE.
Do not attend the Conference if you have tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 10 days or if you are unwell, showing COVID-19 symptoms, or awaiting COVID-19 test results.
Vaccinations or PCR Test Required to Attend
Conference participants are required to have a full COVID-19 vaccination or submit a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken no more than 72-hours prior to the attendee’s arrival at the Conference Registration Desk. (The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention defines “fully vaccinated” as two weeks after receiving a second shot of a two-dose vaccine, or two weeks after the single-dose vaccine.)
Waiver
Participants must complete a COVID-19 waiver upon arrival at the Conference Registration Desk.
Masks Optional
Based on current state and federal guidance, face masks are optional. All attendees should be mindful and respectful of other attendees’ health choices.
Additional Health & Safety Protocols
-
While attendees are encouraged to bring the supplies necessary to ensure personal safety, MSAE will provide attendees with a kit containing paper masks and hand sanitizer at registration.
-
Colored wrist bands for indicating social contact preferences will be available at registration.
-
Meeting rooms will be set to allow for social distancing.
Cancellation
Refunds will be available on all cancellations e-mailed to info@msae.org ten (10) business days or more prior to the start of the event minus a $25.00 processing fee. No refunds will be issued for cancellations received fewer than ten (10) days before the first day of the event and no-shows. Registrants failing to attend the event will not be eligible for a refund.
If the event is canceled by MSAE, registrants will receive a full refund for registration fees. However, MSAE does not assume responsibility for any other expenses, including the purchase of travel or accommodations, incurred by the registrant in connection with attending the event.
It is the responsibility of the registrant to cancel hotel reservations.
COVID-19 Exception
MSAE will provide a full refund for in-person event registration cancellations due to the following,:
- Receipt of positive COVID test
- Required quarantine due to documented COVID exposure
- Employer travel restriction (proof required)
- State, local, and federal government mandates regarding COVID-19
