This personalized pre-conference session will help you dive deeper into current engagement models and develop an action plan for the future that fosters a strong inclusive team, maximizes your association’s strengths, and promotes wellbeing. And also integrate Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Belonging, Access, and Accessibility (DEIBA+A) for maximum impact! This 3-hour workshop will include authentic conversation around the strengths, opportunities, and challenges of creating an inclusive culture, several breaks, as well as some fun ‘giftaways’!

Learning Outcomes

  • To understand the strengths necessary for organizational growth.
  • To explain the impact of one’s leadership voice on attracting and retaining multigenerational and multicultural teams boards, members, partnerships, and volunteers.
  • To explore the DEIA+A and wellbeing concepts that can be applied to yield greater impact and revenue.

Participants will receive a checklist to complement their action plan and be granted complimentary access to assessments that provide additional insights.

Bourbon & Cigars; The Perfect Combination

Bourbon is booming! Interest in this iconic spirit is a great way to engage members and strengthen connections. Participants will enjoy an open-air experience while learning about the quality of handmade cigars and discovering the nuance and sophistication of several bourbon pairings. No prior experience required - curious beginners and bourbon aficionados alike are welcome! Relax, connect, and learn while enjoying the outdoor patio!

Option B:
Local Flavor: Incorporating Regional Foods into Events

Locally sourced crops and products can turn your event into an experience that delights guests, boosts the local eco

nomy, and reduces the event’s carbon footprint.   During this shared experience, participants will discover Great Lakes Bay Area flavor through a selection of wines paired with locally sourced cheeses and blueberries.

Cheese provided by Artigiano Artisan Cheese Shoppe.

Blueberries provided by Russell Blueberry Farm.

Option C:
Infusing Wellness into Your Programs: Namaste!

Today’s prospective attendees expect business travel experiences that support health and wellness. For this experience, participants will board a pedal trolley to network with colleagues while cruising through historic downtown Bay City. The first stop is a local yoga studio for a traditional session highlighting the benefits of yoga. (All are welcome, regardless of prior experience.) The next stop on the trolley is a local nutrition bar to unwind, reflect with peers, and rehydrate before returning to the hotel.

Transport provided by Sunrise Pedal Trolley and powered by participants. 😊

Yoga instruction provided by Bay City Yoga.

Nutrition shake or energizing tea provided by Water Street Nutrition.
