Trends in Associations Operating VirtuallyDavid Westman, CEO, Westman & Associates Consulting, LLC The Virtual Association Network (VAN) was founded in 2017 with a mission to foster a community of association professionals operating in a virtual or remote environment through research, education, and best practice sharing. Over the past six years, VAN has administered five comprehensive benchmarking surveys on issues of interest to virtual associations – addressing member service, human resources management, facilities, and operations. The most recent survey was completed by individuals representing over 150 associations throughout the country.
