Paul Beachnau

I grew up here in Gaylord Michigan and after completion of my bachelor's degree from Michigan State University in 1985 I returned to Gaylord to serve as the Executive Director of the Gaylord Area Chamber of Commerce. We formed the Gaylord Area Convention and Tourism Bureau in 1987 and I served as the Executive Director of both organizations until 2017. With a reorganization, the Board asked me to serve solely as the Executive Director of the Gaylord Area Convention and Tourism Bureau. I was an elected Otsego County Commissioner for 20 years, having been elected Chairman for four of those years. I was appointed to the Northwest Regional Airport Authority in 2021 which oversees the Traverse City Cherry Capital Airport. I currently serve as Secretary. I have two adult children Abby, age 23 and Timmy, age 22 who both serve our country in the United States Air Force. On weekends and evenings, I can usually be found doing something outdoors with my beloved Golden Retriever, MAC.
