Professional Bio
Stephen Pontoni is a seasoned association executive and political strategist based in Michigan. He currently serves as the Executive Director of the Michigan Association for Justice (MAJ), a position he has held for over a decade.
In this role, he leads an organization of more than 1,300 attorneys dedicated to representing people who have been injured to the negligent act of others as well as protecting workers and consumers.
Beyond his work with MAJ, Pontoni is actively involved in various professional organizations, serving as chair of the Michigan Association of Bar Executives (MABE), treasurer of both the Michigan Society of Association Executive (MSAE) and the National Association of Trial Lawyer Executives (NATLE).
Pontoni's commitment to public service is evident through his appointment to the Huron-Clinton Metropolitan Authority Board of Commissioners by Governor Gretchen Whitmer in July 2021. This role allows him to influence the management and development of regional parks, enhancing recreational opportunities for Michigan residents.
Residing in Dexter, Michigan, Pontoni balances his professional responsibilities with a rich family life. He and his wife are parents to two sons, Jack and Daniel, and share their home with his dog Ryker and a cat named Zeno. In his leisure time, he enjoys golfing, watching football, and savoring bourbon.
