Ellis, Tramontana, Jernigan, and McDonough Elected Officers
At its August 3 meeting, the MSAE Board of Directors elected its 2022-2023 officers and recognized those directors who were retiring from the board.

Scott T. Ellis is Chairman of the Board. For over a decade, Scott has led the Michigan Licensed Beverage Association. Scott is passionate about the constituency he serves and has a personal connection with nearly all of MLBA's members. A retired police Detective with an entrepreneurial spirit, Scott's current business ventures include MichiGrain Distillery and Ellis & Associates, LLC.
John Tramontana, CAE, is Chair Elect. John is CEO of the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association. Before taking the helm at MVMA in 2019, John held communications leadership positions with the Michigan Association of School Boards, Sparrow Hospital, and the Michigan Democratic Party. A licensed Realtor passionate about volunteer service, John currently serves on the DeWitt School Board, ASAE's Communication Professionals Advisory Committee, and AVMA's state CEO network.
Elected as MSAE Secretary is Jean Jernigan, CAE, CMP, IOM. Jean is the President of the Auburn Hills Chamber of Commerce. Before leading the chamber, Jean spent 16+ years with the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants, serving as Vice President in various capacities. As her credentials indicate, Jean is a lifelong learner passionate about people and leadership. Jean's current board service includes the Downtown Development Authority for the City of Auburn Hills, the Oakland Chamber Network, and the Michigan Association of Chamber Professionals.
Erin McDonough, Executive Director at the Insurance Alliance of Michigan, is MSAE Treasurer. An experienced association leader, Erin previously held chief staff leadership roles with the Michigan Oil and Gas Association (2014-2020) and the Michigan United Conservation Clubs (2005-2014). Recognized for her public policy and advocacy work, Erin is a fellow of MSU's Environment and Natural Resources Governance program and a graduate of the Great Lakes Leadership Academy.
The board honored the service of Becky Brimley, CAE, Lorraine Goodrich, CPA, and Rick Seely, CAE, all of whom completed their board tenure. The conference also marked the end of six years of board service for Jared Burkhart, CAE, who served as Chairman for the 2020-21 term and most recently led the Society's Leadership Identification Committee. Their service is greatly appreciated, and all will be missed.
