Doyle and Jernigan Appointed to Serve on MSAE Board; Lyon Recognized for Service

Bob Doyle and Jean Jernigan, CAE, CMP, have been appointed to MSAE’s Board of Directors. The appointments, which were recommended to the Board of Directors at its December 1 meeting by the Leadership Identification Committee, received unanimous support.

About Bob Doyle
Doyle is President and Chief Executive Officer for the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) where he provides strategic leadership and support to MICPA’s team and its members. Prior to leading MICPA, Doyle served as Vice President of Marketing, Communications and Advocacy for the Association for Advancing Automation, Member of the Board of Directors for the South Oakland Shelter (SOS), Marketing and Communications Manager for EQ – The Environmental Quality Company, and Environmental Operations Manager at General Motors.

Doyle received his B.S. in Environmental Engineering from Michigan Technological Institute, his M.S. in Engineering Science – Management of Technology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and obtained his M.A. in Public Relations and Organizational Communication from Wayne State University. Doyle, who will serve the remainder of a three-year term, brings an expert skillset in crisis communication, media relations, and marketing communications to the MSAE Board of Directors.

About Jean Jernigan, CAE, CMP
Jernigan serves as President of Auburn Hills Chamber of Commerce. She has extensive experience in the business community. Previously, Jernigan served as Vice President of External Affairs and Community Outreach and Vice President of Business Development for the Michigan Association of Certified Public Accounts, and Sales Representative for Varsity Brands. Jernigan specializes in business development and sales.

Jernigan received her Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Marketing from Grand Valley State University is both a Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) and Certified Association Executive (CAE). Jernigan joins the board as an officer and will serve as secretary through the remainder of a one-year term.

Lyon Recognized for Service

Additionally, the board honored the service of Tobi Lyon, MBA, CAE, of Ngage Management who retired from the board as the Society’s Secretary in October. “It has been an honor and privilege to serve on the Board of Directors,” said Lyon. “I look forward to supporting President Oser and MSAE in a new way to further actualize its vision and elevate its industry work.”
