Resilience and Opportunity: A Message from the President & CEO
Dear Members and Supporters,
The Board of Directors and I have a duty to ensure MSAE's continued growth and success and to uphold our commitment to leading the association with transparency and honesty. That said, we have an important announcement regarding some changes at MSAE.
As some of you may already know, I have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. While this news has certainly come as a shock, I want to assure you that I am approaching this challenge with strength, determination, and a positive outlook. Beginning immediately, I will be working reduced hours to better focus on healing. In light of this change, we are pleased to announce that MSAE will be adding to our staff team to ensure operations run smoothly and better serve our members' needs. (Details coming soon.)
I've long felt that there's no better industry to work within and no finer people with whom to work than those in associations. These last few weeks have certainly reinforced that for me as I have been surrounded and uplifted by association colleagues turned lifelong friends. I am humbled and grateful for the love and support that has been shown to me. And I am inspired and encouraged by many of you who continue to triumph over your own health challenges. Thank you.
Moving forward, the Board and I are filled with optimism and hope for the future of MSAE. We look forward to continuing to make a difference in the lives of association professionals across Michigan and beyond.
With warm regards,
From MSAE Chairman John Tramontana, CAE:
"Our hearts are with Donna and her family as she gets ready to begin treatment. Her health and well-being are the Board's primary priorities, and we will be here to support her in any way necessary. We have no doubt she will make a swift recovery.
"We also want to assure our membership that we are taking steps to ensure MSAE, its staff, and its members do not experience any disruption of products or services. Donna will be serving in a part-time capacity and continue to oversee the organization. We will add to her team to ensure the necessary supports are in place in her absence. We thank you for your patience, understanding, and support during this time."
