MSAE: Tell us about your family, pets, and where you call home.
DD: I grew up in Lake Orion, graduated from Michigan State University, and now reside in Macomb Township with my two kids Ellen (13)
and Ryan (10). Otis is our 9-year-old black lab who is the coolest, calmest & quietest dog (except when snoring).
MSAE: What do you do for fun or to relax?

DD: I enjoy the many varietals of flowers around my house & yard, fitness classes at The Edge, Yoga, learning about food & nutrition,
and house projects. I enjoy water sports in the summer such as paddle boarding, fishing, and swimming, and side-by-side riding in the spring and fall. Winter includes sledding and now snowmobiling. I love good food and anything with friends!!!

MSAE: How did you first become involved with MSAE, and what motivated you to do so?

DD: I was on an ORGPRO task force committee, and hosted MSAE ORGPRO while at Mission Point.

MSAE: What made you want to join MSAE's Board of Directors?

DD: Without boasting and bragging, I feel that I have very good ideas, I am not shy and I love talking with people and making them feel
comfortable. I am hopeful to influence people to participate.

MSAE: What message or advice would you like to share with other members who might be considering getting more involved?

DD: Everyone needs resources. It is something that you can never have too many of. MSAE provides resources such as professional
relationships, education, friendships, career postings, and more. If individuals only stick with what they know and who they know, they
may not learn new things or new things to bring to their leadership and membership.

MSAE: Tell us a little bit about your experience working with or for associations.

DD: I have been a trusted advisor to association professionals when planning meetings and conferences, not only at Mission Point but
anywhere they decide to go. Because I invest in myself through educational programs, newsletters, and blogs, I can share what I learn
with those who are focusing solely on their area of expertise, which is often not meeting planning.

MSAE: What other board work, volunteering, or side work do you do?

DD: I have served in various positions (education, membership, President-Elect, and President) of MMPI in the past. I volunteer for fundraising efforts for my kids' sports through SKATE (supporting kids athletic training and education).

MSAE: Is there anything else we should know about you?

DD: I am generally easygoing. I will stand for something I feel strongly about. You can always count on me to provide an opinion. My
experiences in life make me pretty easy to talk to about all things personally and professionally.
