Denyer Appointed to MSAE Board
The Michigan Society of Association Executives (MSAE) is pleased to announce the appointment of Debbie Denyer, Group Sales Specialist with Mission Point Resort on Mackinac Island, to its Board of Directors.
Debbie Denyer
Especially sensitive to the needs of associations, Denyer is known by her clients as a trusted advisor and engaging thought partner. She is a long-time MSAE member, supporter, and familiar face at the Society's events and within the broader association community. Debbie's outstanding contributions to the sector earned her the 2022 Association Industry Partner of the Year title.
"In addition to understanding associations, Debbie brings creativity and a passion for cultivating relationships to MSAE's leadership. We're thrilled to welcome her to the Board of Directors," commented Ara Topouzian, Chairman of MSAE's Leadership Identification and Development Committee (responsible for nominations).
Denyer was appointed to serve as the Board's Industry Partner Representative, fulfilling the term that will end in August of 2024. The appointment occurred at the Board's February 15 meeting held in downtown Lansing and hosted by the Michigan Licensed Beverage Association.
Doug Small Steps Down from Board
Also on the agenda was the resignation of Experience Grand Rapids' Doug Small, who had to step down due to increasing demands on his time related to development projects in Grand Rapids.
"We accepted Doug's resignation with great reluctance," stated MSAE Chairman Scott Eliis, executive director of the Michigan Licensed Beverage Association. "We are grateful for Doug's leadership and service to the association. He will be missed."
Doug's departure from the Board leaves the Convention and Visitors Bureau Representative board seat open. MSAE's Leadership Identification and Development Committee is accepting interest for board seats and the 2023 election. If you are interested in serving or want to nominate someone, please email us.
